I’ve tried a few prop treatments on my Volvo folding prop. This is the next one. Felt like it went on well, but in 20 degree heat the primer went touch dry really quickly so won’t do whole unit in one go next time unless a second person follows for coat 2. There is enough primer at least to do 4 of these props. I syringed out 1/2 by volume and wasted half of what I mixed. Might be nice if manufacturer made a kit half the size as I’m not sure it will last 4 years in the tin. May encourage more single prop users to give it a go. I saw another boat to which this had been applied before I bought it and there was hardly any fouling after a year submersion, albeit that was a motorboat who’s props spin more that mine so I’ll reserve judgement until next year on that front, but application went well.

I haul out every other year. After two years in the Chesapeake water, my folding prop had nothing on it. Nothing. So I removed the old and put a new coat on. So we will see what happens in another two years. If the new coating lasts just as long as the first one, I’m sold.

Will have to wait until next slipping to see how it worked

Having used prop one before I was delighted with the results and am happy to reapply for the coming season
