Description

Remove old PropOne coatings from your propellers and running gear with ease using PropOne Paint Stripper and Silicone Remover.

PropOne Silicone Remover is designed to remove PropOne Clear Coat. It can also be used as a general purpose silicone remover, to remove thin coatings.

PropOne Paint Stripper will remove paints, varnishes and lacquers. It is  primarily to be used with PropOne Silicone Remover for removal of the PropOne Primer Coat.

Do not use on plastic surfaces or on resin impregnated wood fibreboard materials.

For plastics and other delicate surfaces test a small area first to ensure Silicone Remover & Paint Stripper do not affect the underlying substrate.

Coverage

Application

PropOne Chemical Removal System, i.e.  Silicone Remover and Paint Stripper

Silicone Remover

  1. Remove all marine growth from surface.
  2. Apply Silicone Remover approx. 2mm thick using a brush. Tip: Prevent drying out by covering the treated area with cling-wrap in hot/windy climates.
  3. Do not allow remover to come in contact with water. 
  4. Leave in contact for 2-3 hours or until softened.
  5. Remove with a stiff nylon or wire brush, scrubbing in a circular motion.
  6. Wipe off any remaining residue with a xylene or toluene-soaked cloth.
  7. If any coating remains after scraping, apply second coat.
  8. Once done, proceed with Paint Stripper

Paint Stripper

  1. Apply Paint Stripper approximately 2mm thick using a brush or roller
  2. Leave  in contact for at least 15 minutes or until softened
  3. Scrape off coating with slight pressure and appropriately dispose of waste. A wire brush, strong scourer or paint scraping tool are recommended.
  4. If any coating remains after scraping, apply second coat.
  5. Wipe off any remaining residue with an acetone-soaked cloth, then hose-down surface to leave a bright metal surface.
